Honored: German Brand Award 2026, Best of Best

At the German Brand Award 2026, R+V’s AI assistant Emmie prevailed against around 1,700 entries from twelve countries. In the category “Best AI Project of the Year”, Emmie received the highest distinction, the “Best of Best” award. This distinction is given to only one project per category.

The jury recognized a project that translates R+V’s brand promise “You are not alone” consistently into the digital customer interface and is rigorously focused on customer value.

What Emmie delivers for customers

Emmie is the AI-powered assistant on ruv.de. She supports visitors with questions about claims, contracts and the R+V app, and connects them with a personal advisor whenever needed. As soon as someone visits the R+V pages, Emmie offers her support in the bottom right corner.

Technically, Emmie belongs to a new generation of multi-agentic AI systems. She is not a single chatbot, but a network of AI agents that connect information from different areas in the background and communicate it in real time from one place. Customers have a single conversation and receive a consistent answer, across lines of business and topics. Emmie answers expert questions, guides through services, and routes to the appropriate online journeys or to a human advisor where needed.

The numbers behind the award

  • More than 35,000 dialogues per month run through Emmie at R+V, and the trend is rising.
  • Around 50 percent of these dialogues happen outside the classic service hours.
  • Processes such as ordering the digital insurance card and calculating the pension gap are already live in the chat.
  • The rollout to further lines of business is in full implementation.

Voice from R+V

This clearly sets us apart from the competition and positively differentiates us as a brand. With Emmie, we aim for greater customer proximity, higher quality and clear differentiation in the market. At the same time, we provide relief for our sales force and service teams.

What the jury highlights

In its reasoning, the jury underlines the connection between brand promise and technological execution:

With “Emmie”, the brand moves AI out of the experiment and into real customer dialogue, making its value proposition tangible at the very interface. Strategically decisive is the approach of a dialogue platform instead of separate service paths: internal lines of business and processes recede into the background, while users gain a coherent point of access. In execution, the project combines Agentic AI, system integration and robust governance under regulatory conditions.

Voice from LoyJoy

A great achievement by R+V, to which we extend our warmest congratulations. We are delighted to bring the Emmie vision to life together with R+V on the LoyJoy platform. And we are only at the beginning, Emmie will deliver significantly more for R+V customers in the future. The project is now really gathering pace.

Further awards for R+V

Emmie also wins at the “Gold” level in the “Brand Digitalization” category.

In addition, R+V’s long-running corporate customer campaign “Partnership for Success” was honored at the German Brand Award 2026 as “Winner” in the categories “Lighthouse Project of the Year” and “Brand Strategy B2B”.

What insurers can take away

Emmie illustrates that modern AI at the customer interface delivers much more than a pure FAQ function. The prerequisites are a platform with Agentic AI and robust governance under regulatory requirements, a clear use case with measurable benefits, and close collaboration between business, brand and technology.

This interplay was exactly what the jury highlighted at the German Brand Award 2026.
