BFSG
Germany's BFSG (Accessibility Reinforcement Act) requires providers of digital products to be accessible starting June 2025. LoyJoy is designed for BFSG requirements: keyboard-operable, screen-reader compatible, high contrast.
Also known as: Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, Accessibility Reinforcement Act
What the BFSG governs
The BFSG implements the European Accessibility Act in German law. It requires manufacturers, importers, and distributors of certain products and services to demonstrate accessibility from 28 June 2025. Online shops, banking services, and electronic communication are in scope.
What accessibility means in practice
- Perceivable: content available to different senses, e.g. subtitles
- Operable: keyboard, screen reader, alternative input devices
- Understandable: clear language, predictable navigation
- Robust: compatible with assistive technologies
