AI for Kids Made Safe: Meet Auxie from religionen-entdecken.de powered by LoyJoy
Artificial intelligence is often dominated by large tech giants. But what happens when you use AI not for profit, but for the education of children? The result is “Auxie,” implemented with the LoyJoy Platform. Auxie is the first non-commercial AI chat for kids and has proven to be a role model for the industry. The numbers speak for themselves: Over 30,000 chats in just 2 weeks since going live show the high demand for safe digital spaces.
This has now been confirmed by experts: During the award ceremony of the SEITENSTARK-GÜTESIEGEL on December 4th, Auxie was presented as an outstanding example of child-friendly AI.

Who is Auxie?
Auxie is not just another bot. As the first of its kind, the AI assistant on the children’s portal religionen-entdecken.de demonstrates that generative AI can also work in the sensitive, non-commercial sector in a safe and data protection-compliant manner. Unlike generic AIs that often hallucinate or provide inappropriate answers, Auxie was specifically developed for children. It chats with children using a secure, purely European AI model, introduces itself, and interactively explains the world of religions.
A Success in Religious Education
The response has overwhelmed us all. Since its launch, Auxie has already conducted 30,000 conversations within just a few days. Currently, around 2,000 children chat daily with the friendly robot. Particularly exciting: The usage peaks occur in the morning. This shows that Auxie is reaching those who need it most—directly in schools and religious education. Teachers trust the tool to bring the world of religions closer to children in an interactive way.
Safety First: How We Make AI Child-Safe
Parents and teachers rightly ask, “Can I let my child chat with an AI?” At Auxie, we have established three safety nets:
- Verified Content: Auxie bases its responses on curated content that has been reviewed by real people. It does not use the world knowledge of the AI model, but exclusively this reliable, verified knowledge base.
- European Technology: Auxie uses only European technology. The LoyJoy Platform is “Made in Germany,” and the AI model used is purely European. This means: High-tech “Made in Europe,” known for its high data protection standards.
- LoyJoy Platform: As a German provider, we host all data in compliance with GDPR, encrypted in the EU. Security and data protection are part of our philosophy, so that the joy of dialogue remains unclouded.
The development took place in joint workshops with Seitenstark e.V. and the editorial team of Religionen-Entdecken, whose results were directly incorporated into Auxie.
Learning Interactively and Playfully
Chatting is simply more fun than reading long texts. Auxie answers questions like “What are symbols for the festival of Chanukah?” or “What is celebrated in December?” directly in the dialogue. It even asks, “Did I help you?” which gives children the feeling of being taken seriously.
As Moritz Vogel, project manager of religionen-entdecken.de, emphasizes: “A joint safe children’s chatbot can make knowledge on the internet more accessible – and build trust.” Auxie shows what the future of digital education looks like: Safe, interactive, and personal.
